Overview:

The Guzheng Ensemble CCA aims to cultivate students’ interest and passion for the Chinese culture and values through the learning of a traditional Chinese instrument. The instructors employ a variety of teaching strategies to cultivate students’ interest in learning the instrument and to improve their techniques and skills. A conducive learning environment is provided for our students to gain an enriching learning experience.

The CCA also provides a platform for students to interact with their peers and to learn from one another. Teachers and instructors help to develop students’ social and emotional competencies through individualised attention and advice. The members have worked well together and shown great team spirit thus far.

Offered to P3 to P6 students

Objectives:

1. To teach students the basic techniques of playing the Guzheng
2. To provide platforms and opportunities for students to apply their Guzheng skills at competitive and non-competitive events
3. To develop students’ self-confidence and to inculcate values such as teamwork and discipline
